On the 26th of March 1927 the first edition of the legendary Mille Miglia motor car race took place.
In 1997, to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of this historical date, Montegrappa introduced the limited edition named after the famous road race. ?The world?s biggest museum on wheels?, as Enzo Ferrari liked to call the race, lives again in this piston filled fountain pen with a handcrafted workmanship of timeless beauty. The best master engravers work on this pen with their burins but also with great patience and attention to detail. The burin is a magical instrument,
part of Montegrappa?s traditional workmanship, with which the master engravers impress colour to the design in the full scale of greys. Their skilled hands have given life to the Mille Miglia, a unique writing instrument produced in only 500 pieces in sterling silver and 88 in 18K gold.
They are today expired, but they may be available on the collectors market.
